One thing I’ve noticed teaching junior high over the years is the kids never know what they should call me by (at least when I’m around). They don’t feel quite right just calling me Chad, but “Mr. Werkhoven” just seems to formal. To solve this conundrum, and to alleviate any stress, just do what my kindergarten age neighbor girl does – just call me Mr. Joe Cool.
